Medicating Chickens. I believe medicating chickens is a good thing. The problem with medicating chickens is over-medicating. Medicating when they don’t need medication. That’s what some large chicken ranchers do. Don’t overcrowd your chickens. If your chickens are overcrowded, give them something to keep them busy. A trampoline. Toys. Fresh water for them. Proper feeding. Suppose a chicken is sick or wounded. Separated and treated the chicken. Most of the time, you will have to treat the whole flock. Most diseases are contagious. I had my chickens vaccinated at the hatchery before I got them. So I will not feed them medicated starter feat; I will feed them organic starter feed.
